WHAT WE BELIEVE

NEW WHITELAND
BAPTIST CHURCH

Was first recognized in the summer of 1957 in a tent meeting. A proposal was made by 4 men to begin the Gospel work of building a new church in the Whiteland community. With a membership of 8 adults and 8 children in attendance the church was officially incorporated and recognized as a Baptist assembly by the State Convention of Baptists November 2, 1958. Construction consisted of 4 separate expansions with the first addition in 1959, then again in 1961 and 1964 and the final phase of construction in 1974. In just 25 years the building you see now was completed and owned solely by the congregation. In the first 34 years the church blossomed to a membership of 700 with over 1,000 recorded baptisms. God had shown the power of the Gospel in the dedication of his people.

New Whiteland Baptist has been the founding resource of Spurnica Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, Calvary Zomi Baptist Church and the Centro Cristiano Amistad Hispanic Church.
We are dedicated to hold fast to the principals that benefit all of Christianity. Bound together in the love of Christ we form a family of believers committed to the demonstration of God’s love for us to all people of all nations.

There are 5 defining principals and practices that are the correct lens for a healthy view of The Gospel of Jesus Christ. These 5 Sola statements are the drive of our preaching, teaching and our polity.

1. Sola Scriptura (By Scripture Alone)
2. Sola Fide (By Faith Alone)
3. Sola Gratia (By Grace Alone)
4. Solus Christus (Through Christ Alone)
5. Soli Deo Gloria (Glory To God Alone)

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior.

Justification is God's gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.

Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him.Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person's life.

Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.

IT IS TRULY THIS SIMPLE!

• ADMIT TO YOUR SINS AND FACE THE FACT THAT GOD IS HOLY AND YOU ARE NOT
• BELIEVE THAT GOD’S LOVE DID COMPEL HIM NOT TO LEAVE YOU IN A STATE OF SEPERATION FROM HIMSELF BUT TO INSTEAD PREDESTIN JESUS CHRIST AS THE REMEDY FOR YOUR SIN
• CONFESS THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE HOLY SON OF GOD THAT PAID FOR YOUR SIN WITH HIS OWN LIFE, WAS RESURRECTED FROM THE DEAD AND IS NOW YOUR LORD IN LIFE AND FOR ALL ETERNITY.DETERMINE YOUR LIFE TO BE A LIVING TESTIMONY OF GOD’S LOVE BY TURNING TO THE WISDOM OF REPENTANCE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR THE GLORY OF HIS NAME
